Our StaffSusie RichardsSusie Richards holds a teaching certification and Master's Degree in Education (focusing on community based learning) from Antioch University. Her undergraduate degree was from Western Washington University's Human Services Program, and she currently serves as an adjunct instructor in the Human Services Program at Western. In addition to her work as Director of the South Whidbey Community Engagement Center, Susie is a teacher and service-learning coordinator at Langley MIddle School, with a special love and passion for service-learning and creating "real world" learning experiences for her students. Through her work with S.E.A. Service-Education-Adventure, an organization dedicated to providing outdoor learning experiences for youth, she teaches a number of courses for Heritage Institue, focused on community based learning. Susie is also involved as an advocate for service-learning on a statewide basis, serving on the OSPI Service-Learning Washington Advisory Comittee and Strategic Planning Committe, dedicated to sharing training and support for service-learning across the state. She is a lifelong resident of South Whidbey and her most important (and most meaningful!) "job" is that of wife to her husband Chris, and mom to her children Hope and Daniel.
