Learn and Serve Grant

The 2003-2006 South Whidbey School District Learn and Serve Grant includes about $10,000 available per year to disburse to local grant projects to support the development and implementation of service-learning programs. Learn and Serve staff Susie Richards and Victoria Santos are available to work with teachers in the district to help design programs that connect with current curriculum of individual teachers, teams, departments, etc.

Funding can be used for service-learning programs in the following areas:

• transportation costs
• substitute teacher fees
• materials and supplies needed for programs
• guest speakers/contracted services
